Two heads are better than one. So, where you do turn for help when running a business on your own?

On March 13th, we're hosting a Skills Swap Party with Brand Gathering at Makerversity in London - and we'll be giving you the chance to meet other business owners who you can work with, learn from, share ideas and experiences.

Asking for help

Stiff Upper Lip Syndrome means us Brits are less likely to ask for help. But, in business, you've got to speak up to get ahead.

"Seek a second opinion, seek a third" is the advice of Richard Branson (and he should know!). At our Skills Swap Party, you'll be able to get and give feedback for business ideas, as well as make partnerships and opportunities to collaborate.

Working together

"Being collaborative is at the core of starting and growing a business," says Christina Richardson, founder of Brand Gathering. "It can feel a bit lonely starting out - but once you get going you'll find every other entrepreneur and business owner you meet is very giving with their advice and skills.

"We all offer what we have and know in return for what we don't know and need."

Skills Swap Party

So, if you've skills in one area, but need skills in another, come to our Skills Swap Party with Brand Gathering at Makervisity on March 13th. You'll hear from experts Emma Jones, founder of Enterprise Nation, Christina from Brand Gathering and Tom Tobia from Makerversity - and there'll be plenty of time to meet other small business owners too.
