The problem on LinkedIn is that it's full of your customers. But no easy way of starting and building a relationship that can lead to business. Yes, you can &quot;connect and pitch&quot;, but that's simply not working, nor is it something people want to do and be labelled a spammer.
The solution was simple. An app that choreographs meetings so nobody feels &quot;sold to&quot;, and people can take control of who they initiate meetings with.
The app allows you to book on &quot;ice-breaking&quot; group meetings where the host, via a screen share, displays your LinkedIn profile and invites you to briefly introduce your business. There are 3 a week to choose from - attend any or all.
After everyone has taken a turn, you can access their profile and tap through to connect on LinkedIn.
That starts the process of trust building. Each event you attend, you will strengthen the bond with people you have met before. And also meet new people.
The next step is the 1-2-1 Zoom meeting system which is our proudest achievement. You can initiate meetings by browsing through the profiles of members - some of whom you have already met on the ice-breaking meetings.
Or you can filter by profession.
As the initiator, there are two simple rules for the meeting:
1) Allow your guest to speak first.
2) Do not be pushy/salesy on the call
...that's because there's no need.
The app asks:
Now you've met, are you interested in what they had to offer:
A) Now - ping them an enquiry and asked them to get in touch
B) Interested, but not now, perhaps in the future
C) Not interested
And it does what you'd expect! If the person you met chose &quot;A&quot;, then &quot;Ping!&quot; - you get a notification that you have a live enquiry to handle.
It also polices the etiquette with a simple rating system. The app also asks you to review other person anonymously on whether they adhered to those rules. And it updates your &quot;1-2-1 rating&quot; every 5 meetings (so if your score went suddenly down, you could identify it was the last person you met).
The thing is, the initiators often find they are interested in the services of their guests. And vice versa of course if you are meeting someone who meets the profile of the type of client you seek.
The app is supported by WhatsApp groups of no more than 150 people. Again, spamming is prohibited. As is pitching...except for the Friday Pitch where an amensty applied and everyone is invited to pitch their business or share perhaps a client testimonial.
Each weekday there is a conversation topic. This helps people get to know the person behind the logo.
And finally, members can add our community hashtags to their LinkedIn posts.
You are then encouraged to &quot;listen&quot; to other community members on LinkedIn by visiting the hashtag regularly and commenting on the posts.
This helps to get you more prominently on the radar of people you have met in group meetings, in 1-2-1 meetings, or through the conversations in your WhatsApp group.
The result? A vibrant and supportive community of people focusing on building trust, NOT having to engage in pushy sales tactics.
Members experience business transacting naturally because we created the space where people can choose to buy when they want.
