Theresa May has made Burton MP Andrew Griffiths the new small business minister in her government reshuffle.

He replaces former entrepreneur Margot James, who has been promoted to minister at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS).

Before he was elected an MP, Griffiths worked for his family engineering business and also for Leeds Permanent Building Society.

James has replaced Matt Hancock, a previous small business minister, who is now her boss as secretary of state in DCMS.

Greg Clark remains as business secretary.

According to press reports, the prime minister wanted to replace him with Jeremy Hunt but the health secretary refused to move jobs.
