My idea is...

Fine Artistree Theatre CIC is a new social business striving to showcase diverse talent within the UK. We aim to work with emerging and established talent to put on modern, relevant plays that are worthy of the West End stage but we present them as pop ups or site specific productions.

We’re aiming to tear up the virtual membership card that surrounds theatre and get people to enjoy the electricity of watching a play in an alternative space.

Our next production, InZain by Leah Chillery, will take place in Nottingham and as the producer I happily plough my fee into the production. I did it before and I will do it again because I believe in our work 100%
Fine Artistree Theatre CIC needs your votes. It will provide an allowance to travel up to the East Midlands and give a short road show presentation to schools, youth groups, social enterprises and charity groups to attract new followers to theatre and engage with our summer workshop offer. This is world we live in where if somebody doesn’t passionately and honestly talk with, and not to, our young adults they often remain disengaged. Our workshops gives access to what opportunities are out there. Apprenticeships, access courses, mentoring and coaching.

Now more than ever, diversionary activity is needed for young adults and a platform to express themselves. Drama and improvisation is a great way to focus minds. Yes, it’s entertainment but it is crucial that theatre does more to be inclusive. So help me to get the message across and encourage young people to continue to engage with art. With high unemployment and the rate re-offending rising, we believe that groups like ours working at grass roots level need to be supported.

We also need to offer travel expenses to the volunteers who give up their time to support our project for the two weeks in June 2012. Everyone from chaperones and flyer distributors to interns.
