Wow, wow, wow

I’ve just spent the morning reading through your entries to the Home Business Award and they are, quite simply, AMAZING. Home business owners, you have done yourselves proud!
Top quality
We have been so delighted with the response in this first year of the Home Business Award. We’ve had hundreds of entries from every corner of the UK and from a whole range of businesses. From currency exchange dealers to interior designers, from food businesses to pet grooming businesses.
Without exception, the quality of the entries is incredibly high. This is going to be one tough job for the Judges!
What happens now?
The entries will go to the Judges and a winner will be announced on Monday 1st October.
We will interview this lucky winner on a special podcast and they will then start to receive a stream of prizes from office equipment to a year’s supply of coffee and a 4 page profile in In-House Executive magazine, with accompanying photo shoot.
Six months later, San and I will be heading out of our home offices to go and meet the winner and find out how the prize has affected their business and working life.
Everyone’s a winner
In the meantime, we are going through the entries and recording information that might interest you, such as the percentage of male/female entrants and top tips/key phrases from the entries.
We would also like to profile each and every one of you on the site in a weekly feature. It’s going to take us more than 2 years to do it, but we’re going to do our best to make sure that you all receive some profile on the site!
Thank you
On this final entry date, I wanted to say a big thank you to all of you who have entered and to say to anyone who hasn’t, what are you waiting for….you have until midnight to apply!
Emma Jones
PS Reading the entries has given me inspiration for new award categories to introduce next year ... such as the 'Fittest Home Business Owner' that might have to go to the entrant who wrote that working from home means he can do a 6 mile run every day. Phew. That deserves an Award in itself!
