Spare Room Start Up: How to start a business from home is the first book from Enterprise Nation founder, Emma Jones. Here's what existing and aspiring home business owners are saying about it:
"I bought your book yesterday and sat last night and read it cover to cover! I could not put it down – it's better than a good novel!
"The first thing it has inspired me to do is to Feng Shui my office! (Mine is a garage conversion.) I shall go and buy some tins of soft blue and green paint!
"There are so many good points and tips in the book so even, if like me you have already started your business, the book is still a valuable investment."
Thanks for writing such an inspiring book!”

"Your book has been great as we know nothing about putting a website together and we had never heard of a blog before."

"I just want to say that whilst strolling through Waterstones on a business trip (I work in publishing), I saw your book. I have been toying with the idea of a home business for several months (I commute 4 hours a day currently), and have carried out financial plans, market research and even registered a domain, but have been anxious about actually buying in stock and starting up.
"Having purchased your book and read it in one sitting, I can genuinely say it has filled me with confidence, confirmed that the things I have done to date were right, and provided me with a host of other ideas to flesh out my plans.
"Thanks...once I am up and running I hope I will be able to contact to inform you of my success!"

"I bought this book yesterday and read it in one night. I’ve been on a few business link start up courses and this covered absolutely everything I had been told and more. Emma Jones backs up everything she says with website details and examples of other home business owners which is encouraging as they also show why they did it and the positive difference it has made to their lives. Easy to read and informally written, I found that every question I had was answered."

"I really didn't fancy a day sitting in the office today, the sun looked so inviting so I decided to get the lounger out and relax with 'Spare Room Start-up' and a cool drink!
Now I feel as though I've had one of the most productive days in a long while and have returned with my notebook full of ideas to put into action! One of my favourite stories was from 'Tail Swishing' about how all the family played a part in the business. It so reminded me of my little 'testers' and 'sales people', my two little ones who love nothing more than helping Mom. So thank you once again and congratulations on a great book which is easy to read, understand and put into action!"

"I bought your book last Saturday afternoon - what a helpline. I read it in a day, and have used it as a reference all week, I have checked out my business name at Companies House, I have sourced suppliers, I have done a SWOT........ and I am still full of enthusiasm......... this is just the beginning - going to get my head around web design this week. Thank you. Thank you."

"I would just like to thank Emma and all those involved in Enterprise Nation.com for giving me the realisation I can have my dream of owning and running my own business and then the added bonus of realising I can run it from home....FANTASTIC I have always wanted to run my own business (I think it is in my genes as all of my immediate family own their own businesses) and now I feel I have the right idea - I have conducted all the prep work found there is a market (which is always good!!) and now I am just waiting for my website to be finished, and for all the last bits to be finished and off I go! I found your book and website such a useful resource I think I have actually read your book about 16 times!! not only is it practical but it also excites me about running my home business! Many Thanks again and I look forward to informing you of my sucessful home business."

"'Spare Room Start Up' resembles a cookery book with its colour pictures and checklists. It's full of case studies and practical advice. As someone who started as a freelance from home 21 years ago, I would have found a book such as this enormously helpful."

Comment: Very suspiciously not one of them has mentioned page 80. Are you censoring these posts?

Comment: I am a home based business, with my own marketing consultancy and now into my third year of trading, still growing but definitely staying put at home! I was given Emma's book to read as I am compering an event that Emma is attending and speaking at in Horsham on Thursday.
It is a fantastic book and it will really help put a home based business on the map and into operation in a short space of time. THey will save and make money if they implement her easy to follow, credible recommendations. I could have done with this book three years ago! I will recommend it to all my clients starting out as it is a great portal that encompasses so much practical and useful stuff! I have only just had my office at home redesigned into a perfect office three years down the road. I would have been much more attentive to my needs if this book had been around when I started out.
