What a nice looking e-news

26/07/2008 send to a friend
We’ve written before on the site about home-based business, Belle Vue Tea. Not only do they make a nice cup of tea, they also send out a lovely looking e-news. Who needs PG Tips when you can get your tips straight from Belle Vue!
This is the e-news that arrived from Belle Vue Tea. Why do we like it?

- It’s brief
- It’s attractive
- It includes an option to download a branded screen saver (cute marketing idea)
- It offers pointers to videos and exhibitions about tea (perfect for tea-lovers)
- It ends with a call to action to buy the product
Do you send out an e-news? Does it make up for an important part of your marketing mix? Let us know by posting here, or in the forum. – Emma Jones

Comment: Great article and a very important subject! Newsletters are a great way of communicating with our customers and an e -newsletter is the easiest and least expensive way of doing so. I run an on-line handmade jewellery business and recently sent out the latest edition of my newsletter to my jewellery - loving customers. Here are my top tips for producing your own great looking, low budget newsletter. Firstly, it's very easy to produce professional looking newsletters at home using one of the many packages available - I used "Publisher" to create mine. ( If you'd like to look at my newsletter visit http://www.dawnwoodward.com/newsletters/Spring2008Newsletter.pdf). Next , make sure that the style of your newsletter reflects your brand and your existing website etc - I matched the newsletter colours and the fonts/ styling to those on my website www.dawnwoodward.com
I was keen to make the pages visually attractive and broken into small chunks , like a newspaper layout, to make it easy to read.
Try to give a good mix of useful and educational information as well as your own commercial, marketing messages so that the issue is not seen as just another form of selling. Make sure you are clear about what you'd like the newsletter to do for your business and give your customers a clear "call to action" And lastly, make sure you deliver! if you procuce a weekly, monthly or quaterly production, make sure that it is out on time, your customers might just be waiting for it!
