Watch the Olympics from your home office

Google Olympics

13/08/2008 send to a friend

San Sharma may know diddly-squat about sports, but when it comes to finding things on the Internet he's something of a gold medalist. If only there were a technology event at the Olympics... There's not, unfortunately. But there are lots of ways to watch the Olympics (in well-measured breaks from your work!) from your office and on the Internet. San explains how.

Watch the Olympics live

There are a couple of places to watch the Olympics streamed live over the web. Log onto the links below, shrink your browser window and keep an eye on the action, whilst working on your home business. Some events might be more distracting than others, but I reckon you'll get a lot done when canoeing hits our screens. :-)

Watch highlights

If you'd rather reward your hard work with the some sport, rather than letting it play in the background, hop, skip and jump on over to the official website and YouTube channel of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

Search for the Olympics

You can quickly find out when Olympic events are due to start with a simple Google search query. Just type the event name and "Olympics" into the search box and Google will show upcoming dates and times. Like this. Also, you can track medals, events and stadiums with an awesome - and official - Google Maps mashup, on the link below.

Keep up on the move

If you're out of your home office and have an iPhone you can keep up with the latest Olympic news with the Lenovo Olympics 2008 App, which you can download for free from the iTunes App Store (the same is available for Windows Mobile and Blackberry devices via lenovo.zumobi.com).
