In business there are things we take for granted; be it your accountant, stationery supplier or business bank. Add to that your mobile phone bills which at times can be one of the companies biggest monthly outlay. Sohail Ratansi offers ways to make savings.
Price planning
Have your mobile phone work for you as an essential business tool, as opposed to just an expense. Here are a few tips to see if you are on the right price plan:
- General usage - check how many minutes you are spending
- Overspill/Underspill - how many minutes you are not using or going over your limit
- Texts / Photo messages - do the same with your message bundles
- Data plans – A lot of people now have dataplans added to the mobile phone account, whilst it proves to be useful for some there is a chance it can be a wasted expense for others who just occasionally check the football scores. Especially as some networks offer a capped charge of £1 a day
- Reception – it is no good being on a network that may offer you plenty of minutes at low prices just to save a few quid a month if you cannot use it! A mobile phone is just as essential as a land line for most businesses and in some cases even more than a land line!
The steps above should be able to help you analyse your usage and spend, if however you find that it can get all too techy on the bills then drop me a line.

Comment: Sohails comments are good advice.
All too often people think they are on a good deal believing they are £35 for 600 free minutes and 1000 free texts but only use half of those you still have to pay the £35 so they aren't free are they?
At Utility Warehouse we believe in doing things different. We offer cheap line rental and limited call packages but with much cheaper call charges once the call allowance has been met. This can lead to substantial savings against other networks who charge huge tarrifs over the allowance.
As always it's all down to your requirements but savings are there to be made.
