Happy Work from Home Day!

Today (Thursday 15th May) has been designated as National Work from Home Day by a campaign group called Work Wise UK. It represents employers who will hopefully allow their employees to work from home today. You may find your streets and cafes a little busier than normal!
A day’s treat
For us home business owners, every day is a treat as we enjoy the 60 second commute and the freedom of working from home. But say ‘hello’ to lots of other homeworkers who’ll be joining our ranks today.
This is the official line being taken by Work Wise UK:
“An estimated five million workers across the UK will not go into work.
With fewer commuters, the roads are clearer and public transport less crowded than usual. Stress levels have fallen, pollution levels are down and CO2 emissions reduced. People are happier, have a better work-life balance and ultimately will be healthier.”
Interesting.
Rather oddly, I’m not spending the day at home as I’m just off to catch a train that should get me in on time for today’s launch of Spare Room Start Up. We’ll be taking photos and uploading them on the site tomorrow …which won’t be National Work from Home Day for employees but will still be for us! – Emma Jones
