Lisa Corcoron has been an Enterprise Nation member for some time. And in that time she’s travelled to lots of places. Here she talks about her favourite 3 destinations and offers travelling tips for home business owners looking for a little R&R.

Holiday Inspiration: City, Coast and Country

Here are my top three holiday inspirations...

City:  Florence

I fell in love with Florence (or Firenze) almost immediately and seeing the Duomo for the first time will be a memory etched in my mind forever. An open air museum , it is a city which is easiest to see on foot. From the Uffizi to the Santa Maria Novella, Florence is famous for its culture but it also has fabulous shopping, numerous cafes and relaxing gardens.

Sleep: JK Place, Casa Howard, Riva Lofts
Don’t miss: Walking along the Ponte Vecchio, Markets (famous for leather),Duomo, Boboli Gardens
Tip: If you’re looking for a snack check out one of the many ‘Tabacs’ away from the main Piazzas and see real Italian life without getting ripped off!
Newsflash: The Four Seasons hotel opens in Florence this summer.

Coast: Mallorca

Mallorca is an island of charm and character with a range of experiences to suit all needs. The rustic charm of the north west villages Deia and Valldemossa, contrast vividly with the uber cafe society of Palma; yet both are easily accessible. Forget the image of the packaged holiday resort, Mallorca is seriously chic!

Sleep: Portixol, La Residencia, L’Avenida, Son Brull, Cala San Vicenc
Don’t miss: North west coast, Es Trenc beach and Santanyi, Palma, Soller Tram, Pollenca, Portixol
Tip: Hire bikes and ride along the promenade at Portixol
Newsflash: Check out the champagne bar at Mood Beach Club and rub shoulders with Paris Hilton!

Country: Vail, Colorado

Driving along the I-70 your heart lifts when you see the spectacular Rocky Mountains in the distance. This is a four season adventure playground where the outdoors rule and a place which is as beautiful in the summer as it is in the winter. With some of the best skiing in the world, Vail will always hold a special place in my heart!

Sleep: The Lodge at Vail, Blue Spruce Chalet
Don’t miss: Blue Sky Basin ski area
Tip:  Drive to nearby Beaver Creek where you can have a hot chocolate at the splendid Ritz Carlton, Bachelor Gulch
Newsflash: Vail Plaza Hotel & Club is now open.

Survey

Spare Room Start UpEnterprise Nation is undertaking the largest ever survey of home businesses and we'd love you to help!

It'll only take a few minutes. Your responses won't be shared but they will paint a picture of just what's happening in entrepreneurial homes across the UK. The results will be written up in our 2008 Home Business Report, which will be free and available on the site in October.
