At Home Mom blogger, Genesis, has posted 5 reasons why you shouldn't work in pyjamas. "Everyone always talks about how great it would be to work at home and stay in your pyjamas all day," she writes. "But it isn't the best way, and here's why..."
- Getting dressed in the morning automatically puts you into a different frame of mind. You are ready to meet the day and wearing business clothing helps you prepare mentally for the fact that you need to work. If you are in pajamas, you will be more inclined to take it easy.
- Unless you live in the middle of nowhere and only interact with the world through internet, you could have unexpected visitors. There is nothing more embarrassing than finding yourself in front of a potential client in your Snoopy jammies and bunny slippers!
- As a mom, you need to set a good example for your kids and what better way to do that than to get up and get dressed? Wearing pjs all day could potentially result in a power struggle over clothing later on!
- People take you more seriously when you are dressed. Even if your husband and family is supportive of your working at home, they might figure that you are slacking off if you are in your sleepwear during the work day. Show them that you are serious about your business and get dressed.
- You tend to put things off when you are wearing pajamas. Need to go to the store? Ahhhh, later, you´d have to get dressed to do that! If you are presentable early on, you won´t hesitate to go out in public and will end up getting more done.

Comment: Great article! Even though I'm a VA and all my work is done over the Internet/phone, I always get dressed. (I'd feel like a slob not to!) Kate
